Adoption Party & Fire Safety Day

Alright some of these pictures are from a couple weeks ago, but I'm trying here so give me some slack! After our wedding in April our family went forward with adoption proceedings for Doug to "officially" adopt Ava. In mid September everything became final and Ava is now Ava Schrage!
Although she really knows nothing different it is nice to have it completely taken care of. So to celebrate we had a little party at Godfathers with Grandma & Grandpa, the Great-Grandma's, the Paulus's and 3/4 of the Howe Family (Dustin had his wisdom teeth out that day!)

On Sunday we went to Rockford for Fire Safety Day at the fire house. Ava and Heidi had fun going on a fire engine ride, playing on the obstacle course and chowing down on some free hot dogs, o.k. that last one is just for me! Then later that night we caught the parade that lasted about 15 minutes, which was actually perfect for a couple girls on a cold late Sunday night.
